Although
best know as a country musician, Fred McCarty is a veteran of
many musical genres. Fred's background includes composition and
performance experience in Jazz, Rock, R&B, Classical, Blues
and Country. He's studied Jazz with Chuck Mangione, Classical
guitar with Stanley Watson and is a graduate of the New England
Conservatory of Music.
Fred's
played solo, duo, as a band member and as frontman. He's performed
in clubs, halls, theaters, fairs & festivals coast-to-coast.
Fred
has appeared with Boz Skaggs, Cheap Trick, Danny Hull, Eddie Money,
Lydia Pense & Cold Blood, Pride & Joy, Robert Barry, Sha
Na Na, Stevie Nicks, The Coasters and many others.
Over
the past ten years, Fred McCarty and The Contenders have performed
at many Corporate Events, in additions to appearances at: Boswells,
Plantet Gemini, The British Bankers Club, The Cardinal Lounge,
Masse's, Concord Sheridan, Murphy's Law and many others. They
have also appeared at: The Hollister Bike Rally, Gilroy Garlic
Festival, Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival, Tapestry &
Talent, Mushroom Mardi Gra, Laguna Seca Race events and Race Night
at Cannery Row which was highlighted on Channel's 8, 11 and 20
news.
There
